Beware the Herbalife Scam! That is a phrase that many an aspiring entrepreneur will hear from a well meaning but ignorant relative or friend when starting up a home based business for the first time.
The Herbalife scam is not a new phenomenon! The fact is that a ‘scam’ of any kind has been around longer than Herbalife has even been around!
How can that be?
Well it is like this… Scams only exist in the minds of those who have not researched, investigated, probed and done due diligence or their homework on the subject that that they are interested in.
It is true that there ARE scams that exist, but they are only scams AFTER you have been caught by them.
Do you get what I mean?
“It sounds too good to be true, then it probably is,” is not a scientific analysis and so your opinion should not be based on this conclusion.
As Tim Sales once remarked… “If it is too good to be true then is that any reason to stop looking?”
The answer is ‘of course not!’
The phrase the Herbalife Scam is not just reserved for Herbalife… it is used to describe ANY product or service that you may be interested in where a relative or friend or salesman has a vested reason to provide you with that opinion.
You see, anything is a scam if I were to just come out and tell you that it is. And it does not take a rocket scientist to tell you those words either… “it’s a scam!” Any person can say that but it takes a real insider, a real go-to man, too know the real truth about whether something is a scam or not.
In fact, scams have been around since man first decided he would trade his 1 camel for his neighbours 3 goats and the man who got the camel felt that he lost out in the exchange.
Again… if you do your homework before joining or buying anything, whether it is a new home, a new car, a digital product or a calculator, you will not have that feeling that you have been taken and so you will not have been scammed.
Sure, the Herbalife Scam DOES exist! It exists in the minds of those who believed that they could get something for nothing. It exists in the minds of those who would rather spend time complaining about where they are in life then actually doing something about it.
Spend 5 minutes complaining and you just wasted 5 minutes!
If a Herbalife Scam really existed then how come Herbalife has 29 years of business success, is in 70 countries, has 100 million documented testimonials, Nobel Prize winning scientists, more millionaires than any other company or organisation on earth, is the official sponsor of David Beckham and the L.A Galaxy, is Listed on The New York Stock Exchange, has nearly DOUBLED its turnover from US$2Billion in 2004 to US$3.8 in 2008 and is the “Number 1 Weight Loss Company In The World”??
I could go on and on but the point is that for anyone interested in ANY home based business opportunity then they must do their due diligence and homework before joining ANY company and ANY team.
In the end there is no Herbalife Scam, only those who did not do their research and no matter what work from home business that you do join, your success will ALWAYS come down to 3 fundamental principles that will never change.
1) Marketing- Without an effective marketing strategy and system in place you will not have a business.
2) Mindset- To be truly successful at ANY business you MUST put yourself MENTALLY in the top 1% of the earners. You must think, talk, look and act like a leader.
3) Hard Work- I never knew ANYBODY who got to be successful and didn’t have to work hard for it.
First, a domain name is important for many reasons. It is important because, this is the name people will remember to find the product or service that one has to offer. It is excellent practice choosing a domain name easy to remember. Also, a domain name is vital to search engine optimization. Search engine optimization is how people find the website via search engines. Finally, keep the domain name relevant to what product or service that is offered. For example, a domain name would not be relevant if the product was dog related and the domain name was steering toward car parts.
Next, one will need a web page editor to create their website. If he or she has experience in website creation, this article would not be needed as a resource to setup and create a website. If one has experience all is needed to create a website is a simple text editor. However, if he or she does not have experience in creating a website; a pre made template will be used instead of a simple text editor. A pre made template makes creating a website possible because, the layout of the website is already created for the website. In this case, all one would do is add their content and images then publish.
As a novice in website building, a pre made template is the solution to an issue that beginning web designers face creating their first website. Thus, a pre made template will defeat the learning curve resulting in; a quick and easy way to create a website and publish it to the internet within minutes. This is important in today’s economy specifically for businesses turning to the web to generate more revenue to keep their business a float.
On the other hand, a pre made template has some pros and cons with a website. One favoring factor is that setting up and creating a website is fast and easy. For instance, this is nice because running a business takes time and effort as well as creating a website. This will eliminate the time an effort, so more focus can be on the business side and less on learning how to create the style and layout of the website.
Conversely, you are limited to your full potential of liking with a pre made template website. For example, one might want to change just a little part of the website template look or layout, but might not be able to so. Don’t get me wrong, I used a temple website for my first website and evolved from there. One could also do the same and keep the domain name as originally anticipated for future use.
In addition, once your website is live it will need maintenance as changes come and go with a business. Just to change an image or some content around, one will have to hire a web designer to create and maintain a website and that issue is costly. This is not an issue with a template website because, it makes changing images and content simple to do so even for a beginner. In this case, cutting out the middle man to complete this task and saving a lot of time and money.
Last, a web host is needed to complete the website creation process. Positively, technology has advanced this step of the creation process and made it very simple, non tech savvy one, with on click setup installation connecting the domain name with the website. It is even easier if the domain name is registered with the same company as the web host. Therefore, all the programs are designed to run together and a smooth installation will occur with the website creation process.
Email is arguably the most used communication tool on the planet today. Since it stumbled into the communication landscape its impact has been exponential.
Undoubtedly, email has introduced greater efficiency in communication. It is cheap, fast, convenient, you can reach many people at the same time and at different locations.
Take an isolated country such as Australia. Email helps to offer Australia inclusiveness and competitiveness in the global business market. Time zones and the tyranny of distance become irrelevant or at least minimised when information can be exchanged so quickly and easily.
Given these great advantages, one could assume that communication in the workplace today is more effective than ever before thanks to email. However, is this really the case?
The information overload via email is reaching critical proportions. Employees are starting to turn into mere email processors. It is not uncommon for an employee to receive 150-200 emails a day. This prolific use of email is a key threat to it being an effective communication tool.
How can 200 messages a day be meaningful? How can dealing with so many emails, instead of performing the core activities associated with an employee role be productive?
One must dig deeper and ask quite simply ‘why is this occurring?’ The reasons are many and varied. A large part of it is because email is just so easy and convenient that it has become its own worst enemy! Consider the different types of emails that are sent. There are the types of emails that probably should be replaced by a face to face encounter. We have all been guilty of exchanging ‘banter’ style emails with a colleague who sits nearby. In effect we are engaging in a silent e-conversation. But why not have a ‘real’ conversation?
Then there are the emails with attachments that are copied to a long list of people. Do all these people need to know this information? Will they have time to read it? Probably not. Next are the worst kind of emails. This email is the trail following a long issue that has been bandied back and forth between multiple parties. These emails take time and effort to determine what is going on, and what should happen next and also cause ongoing interruptions. This exposes too many people to the decision making process when most people are best involved when the decision has been made. Even if we could just eliminate the above types of emails, a considerable decrease in email traffic can be achieved.
In addition, there are some strategies that can be put in place to encourage staff productivity and to facilitate effective communication. One strategy used by several large companies in America is to implement email free days. On email free days, staff are encouraged to use their phone, or to meet with people, and to simply get up from their desk and talk to each other.
The basic premise here is to ‘get back to basics’. People need to rediscover basic communication practices. This approach is having a positive effect in companies that have tried it, and they are discovering that people are starting to communicate better even on ‘email allowed’ days. That is, the lessons learnt by having email free days are having a positive after affect on the other days of the week. The outcome, is decreased email traffic overall, and increased communication effectiveness within the organisation.
Email is turning the modern workplace into an inefficient environment, with information overload looming as the greatest threat to effective communication and productivity in recent times. We all need to reconsider our use of email each time we use it, and simply ask ourselves ‘am I using the right communication method?’
